Smell Test: This Sticky SAGE from Helping Hand Collective is easily the more fragrant of all of the SAGE strains I have tried. As the name suggests, immediately this strain’ aroma will remind you of fresh sage. There is also a potent smell of peppermint with a sweet skunk musk that really reminds of old-school Thai strains from the 90’s,
Sight Test: The Sticky Sage lives up to its moniker with dense, crystal covered nuggets. The medication is nearly uniformly light green, with a few red hairs. For me this is the idea color for a potent sativa since once you start getting more red hairs and deeper colors the effects start to be more of an indica high.
Pinch Test: Nothing is more of a bummer than coming home to finding dry weed at home. When choosing a sativa, it is always good to pull apart a big nug to see if it is just as crystallized inside as on the outside. The Sticky SAGE here was well- cured and densely packed inside with trichinomes. Pulling apart the nugs really brought out the sage fragrance of this strain as well.
Taste Test: On first drag of this medication, I was immediately struck by the menthol taste to this strain. Less sage, and more peppermint, this strain really has potent taste. After a few drags, the taste begins to be dominated by the strain’s Thai background. It is very herbal and earthy, and combined with the menthol is a unique experience.
Brain Test: SAGE strands for Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium., which is one of the first hybrid strains. The original growers worked to combine the up effects of a sativa, with the therapeutic effects of Afghani. Combined here in this Sticky SAGE, you feel cerebral and uplifted while not feeling overly medicated. My body aches melted away and I was able to do my normal activities without difficulty, which means it is excellent for people who need to medicate during the day.
Tools: I used both a Volcano Vaporizer, and a clean glass bubbler and found they were both effective for this medication.
