Last month while I was out in Fort Collins, Colorado, a friend (Colin) brought me out to visit his long time friend’s glass studio. I thought I’d heard of the brand “Kind Creations“, but wasn’t sure until I saw the sign on their shop. Sure enough!! I recognized them immediately from my adventures on the internet perusing fine glass.
The Kind Creations shop is fairly large, and while they do have a studio on site to create their signature pieces, they also carry a wide variety of glass from other glass companies including some top shelf wares. I had a great time looking over the array of tubes, bubblers, and lots of things in between. This month, I am hoping to do a video showcase of the Kind Creations shop, and maybe even feature some glass blowing. Look for that here in the future.
After settling in at the shop and talking a bit with owner about his glass, I was immediately drawn to a tall case with a number of shelves filled with worked glass. There were a number of beautiful pieces in the case, but there was one in particular that was screaming out at me… TAKE ME HOME (hotel room) AND FILL ME!!! After looking around the entire store (slowly), I ended right back in front of that case, and the beautiful screaming bubbler.
This worked bubbler is around 12″ tall. It has a worked permanent downstem that diffuses to four arms, a worked disc style mouthpiece, and a non-functional worked disc on the side. The matching slide has what looks like a group of green “boobies” that help to grip the slide when clearing the bubb. Overall this is a very nice piece that hits like a diffused dream. I have brought it with me throughout CA and CO, and it’s held up nicely. I’m looking forward to my next visit to Kind Creations!
