A little while back on one of my Colorado tours, I was lucky enough to sit down and interview my friend Adam who happens to be responsible for growing an award winning mid-west strain called Bio Diesel for a club he works with called  Denver Relief in Denver, CO. In this video Adam and I discuss and sample the Oil and Earwax Hash that was made with the Bio Diesel flowers and trim. Enjoy…!

Going to start the day off with a post showcasing some of the many hash’s I found recently at Little Amsterdam in Los Angeles, CA.

Once you have looked through the hash gallery, please scroll to the bottom of this post, you will find a youtube video showing the 2009 Harvest Cup Winning strain Bio Diesel from Denver Relief in Denver, CO that has been made into an earwax hash. The video shows a bic heating a small pool of the oil in a glass dish causing it to bubble.

Strain name: Blue Dream

Smell test: slightly spicy and woody at first (likely from the Santa Cruz Haze), but with hints of the blueberry in it’s lineage when you break open the nug. Very unique and appealing right out of the jar at the club, it was more intense at home after being left in a small, clean jar for a couple of days.

Sight test: Looks like it was coated with crystals to begin with, then dipped in kief, then for good measure someone blasted it with an airbrush full of even more THC. In short: this thing was coated in amber crystals.

Pinch test: Slightly over-dried, but not enough to fault anyone on or really even mention. cured very well. Lime green nugget with light yellow I broke open a half-gram chunk of the Blue Dream over a clean mirror and was able to scrape enough of the lost kief to completely coat the top of the bowl.

Taste test: Spicy like an Indian dish at first, with a floral, potpourri-like finish. A bit harsh on the uptake, but likely because of the huge amount of kief I kept throwing on every-other bowl. Even after accidentally leaving the sample out to dry for a week (oops!), it retained it’s flavor without gaining too much of a pine needle taste.

Brain test: My brain didn’t so much test this, as this tested my brain. I got extremely medicated off of just one bowl of this cut and barely made it through conversation with friends two hours later at a sushi dinner. Even though the extremely potent mental buzz gave me a scatter-brained and energetic kick, it also was a very good appetite inducer. Even though I wasn’t the greatest conversationalist, I mopped up every last bit of rice, roe and wasabi on the platter.
